I read Cancer Gone! cover to cover and found it fascinating, educational and inspiring. What a journey!
Of great significance was what I learned about becoming my own best advocate in the medical world. Your courage to stand up for yourself, insist on understanding test results, and make your own decisions despite what every doctor or person around you was telling you was truly awe-inspiring. I immediately began doing the same thing, and to my amazement, discovered that reports of my medical tests over the last two years were incomplete and inconsistent.
Talk about eye opening! From my research, I learned that my original diagnosis could have been wrong—and doctors had wanted me to take some pretty drastic measures based on those results. So I have begun to give greater weight to the voice within me, listening carefully to experts’ advice, then taking my own counsel. Of great delight is the beginning of my own CHI-LEL practice as a result of reading about your experiences. Having you as my teacher (via Skype) is fantastic, and the practice is filling me with hope and confidence about my ability to heal.

After work these days I nestle down with a cup of tea and your book. What a story! I take in so much of what you share in this really well written book, but most of all the difference in the feeling of yin and yang, in your journey with cancer and in all our lives... The mind/yang and the gut/yin and so much more. I am a few pages away from finishing your book. The biggest challenge with finishing it is that I read your inspiring carpe diem words and I run out the door to live life fully and breathe and seize the day. Literally... It is SO inspiring that I read a few pages and light up and want to put on music and dance and be fully alive. It is amazing and I have loved journeying with you through your life and your adventure with the challenge of cancer. Wow. Just wow. And a quick thought...I will say that the guardians, both as a reality and as sculptures are extremely powerful.

I thought the book was excellent and I was struck by the great discomfort you suffered. You are right about psychological attitudes- anger and despair that I saw in patients when I was in nurse's training and in my father who had lung cancer after my parent's divorce.
I couldn't put your book down. I will read this one over and over. It's a winner!
